Laser Wavelengths: 755nm, 808nm, and 1064nm

A wavelength guide limited to documented wavelengths. Only 755nm, 808nm, and 1064nm appear as documented wavelengths for models on this site, and no other wavelength is presented as a model specification here.

Wavelength is the most quoted figure in laser equipment marketing, and also one of the most over-read. This guide limits itself to the three wavelengths that documented models on this site actually use — 755nm, 808nm, and 1064nm — and it does not present any other wavelength as a specification of a model here. Other wavelengths appear on this site only where they belong to a documented model, such as the 532nm wavelength of the picosecond model, the 2940nm wavelength of the TwinLaser erbium side, the 1927nm wavelength of the thulium model, and the 10600nm wavelength of the fractional CO2 model, and those are covered on their own product pages rather than folded into this guide's three-wavelength scope.

The 755nm wavelength is the Alexandrite wavelength, documented on the Alexandrite plus Nd:YAG system and on the BBT PRO diode system. The 808nm wavelength is the classic diode wavelength, documented on the BBT PRO system. The 1064nm wavelength is the Nd:YAG wavelength, documented on the Alexandrite system, the BBT PRO system, and the TwinLaser system's Nd:YAG side. The BBT PRO's combination of all three wavelengths in one platform is a documented fact of that model, and it is the reason this guide treats the three wavelengths together: they are the set that one documented model actually combines.

A wavelength on its own does not determine a treatment outcome. Energy, pulse width, frequency, spot size, cooling, and operator technique all matter, and a buyer who chooses a model on wavelength alone is choosing on one figure out of many. The product pages give the full documented tables for each model, and the diode versus Alexandrite guide compares the two hair removal models on all of their documented figures, not on wavelength count. That fuller comparison is the right basis for a choice, and this guide is background to it, not a substitute for it.

One further discipline applies: a three-wavelength combination must not be generalized beyond the model that documents it. The BBT PRO documents 755, 808, and 1064nm together, but that does not make every diode system a three-wavelength system, and it does not transfer the combination to any other model the company lists. Other diode models, if considered, need their own specification sheets, and their wavelength sets must be confirmed on those sheets. The inquiry guide lists the wavelength question among the specification questions to confirm before ordering.
